GX-3000E Features

The radio features a large, alphanumeric LCD screen, with a bold display, excellent viewing angles and a rotary channel selector. Both the screen and all buttons are backlit for night use, making the radio tactile, ergonomic and user-friendly. A powerful 30W loud hailer is integrated, which includes listen back, fog signalling, bells and whistles. To benefit from this feature, an optional PA horn should be added, whilst a large 2.25" audio speaker delivers a 4.5 Watt output, even in the poorest conditions.

There is a choice of two remote microphones available to work with the GX3000E - the original CMP25B RAM+ fist mic, or the new VH-310 with alphanumeric telephone-style handset. The addition of one or two of these turns the GX3000E into a dual-station radio, allowing two or three full VHF stations onboard, sharing just a single antenna.

Even more opportunities become available when the radio is interfaced with a GPS onboard. Position information may be displayed on the LCD, also details of speed over ground (SOG) and course over ground (COG). Position polling is possible; simply by pressing a couple of buttons, the user can request the position of another vessel, or simply send their own position information to the selected vessel.

One button gives immediate access to Channel 16; likewise there is a dedicated DSC distress button, which, when interfaced with a GPS, will also relay position information. The GX3000E may be flush-mounted, and the front panel is waterproof (IPX7), although customers also have the added reassurance of the radio being covered by a 3-year waterproof warranty.
