From the compact ergonomic design that fits comfortably in your hand, to the exceptionally loud audio that enables you to communicate in the noisiest environments, this portable, positioned as an entry level model, easily outclasses its competition.
With 16 channels, this model, like all our HX series portables, is built to meet the MIL-STD 810C/D/E/F rating for tough enduring performance and in addition has a superior IP55 splash proof construction.
Utilising the latest intelligent Lithium-Ion battery technology with battery cycle count* the entry level HX400 will even alert you to imminent battery life expiration. Channel scanning and local personal attack alarm are included, with Bluetooth communications and variable point voice scrambler available as options. This low cost portable will exceed the expectations of even the most experienced radio users.

IP54/55 Weatherproofing
The practical HX Series 2.0 radios enjoy an IP55 rated construction, which
means that they are dust protected and resistant to water ingress (i.e.
splash proof). For most day to day applications, this level of protection
is perfectly adequate, however, where full protection against immersion
in water is required, users should consider our IP68 rated HT Series 2.0
radios.
MILSTD 810C/D/E/F
Meeting MIL-STD 810C/D/E/F commercial grade construction for tough, enduring
performance, the Entel's HT and HX series 2.0 portables conform to stringent
standards, enabling them to withstand the everyday rigours of shock,
vibration and the corrosive effects of dust and moisture, ensuring many
years of trouble free use in the most hostile environments.
1800mAh Li-Ion battery
All Entel portables come with the latest intelligent Lithium-Ion battery
technology as standard. Whichever model you choose, these batteries will
count the number of completed charge cycles, which on LCD variants, if
dealer enabled, can be displayed when you power-on your radio.
For your convenience it will even alert you
to imminent battery life expiration. Another advantage of Lithium-Ion
battery technology is the way it maximizes duty cycles, while
the elimination of memory effect means there is no need to fully
discharge the cells before recharging. Therefore you are assured
a full duty cycle each and every time you take your radio from
its charger.
Flash upgradeable
to add future features
Entel proposes to continuously add/upgrade features to its range of radios.
Using Flash Upgrade technology your radios can be upgraded by your Dealer
at any time.
Robust accessory
socket
A completely redesigned accessory connector, when secured to the portable,
is designed to withstand any amount of punishment from dropping to careless
misuse. Furthermore, the securing bolt incorporates a shearing point to
protect the connector.
16 channels
The entry level HX4x2 comes with 16 channels. For 255 channel variants
see HX4x3, HX4x5 and HX4x6.
Scan/priority
scan
Both HT and HX series portables have the facility to scan for an active
channel. When an active channel is found, the radio will automatically
select that channel for you. Priority scan will allow you to select one
channel in the scan list that is treated as a "Priority".
It will be checked more frequently than all other channels in the list.
Voice annunciation
(option)
Speaks the channel number and basic settings so you can operate the radio
without having to look at it.
Bluetooth™ wireless communications (option)
Allows you to connect a Bluetooth audio or data accessory.

The Lithium-Ion technology gives the radio a long operating time and the batteries will not suffer from the ‘memory effect’ that can be experienced on radios using alternative battery chemistries. |

CSAHX – Single-unit, dual slot rapid charger for the HX series hand portable. This intelligent rapid mains charger ensures that the battery only receives the correct amount of charge. Charge status is indicated via a multi-coloured LED so you will know whether the battery is fully charged before use. Charger operates between 110-230V. The front pocket accommodates the radio complete with attached battery; the rear pocket accommodates the battery only. Charging commences with the front pocket and when the charge is complete it switches to the rear pocket. EA12/450 – ‘D’ shaped earpiece and tie clip microphone for the HX series hand portable radio. A ‘D’ shaped, soft rubber-feel earpiece which fits over your ear. This is connected to a combined tie clip microphone and press to talk button via a curly cable. A rotating strain relief clip can attach to your collar to prevent the earpiece being dislodged if the cable were pulled. The EA12/450 allows the radio user to carry the radio on their belt and have the facility to both make and receive calls without removing their radio. This keeps the radio safe and ensures that calls are not missed, especially in noisy environments. This accessory is designed for light to medium duty applications, so to ensure maximum life span it should be personally allocated to users. . |

CXR16/450 – ‘D’ Shaped earpiece, throat microphone with large in-line PTT for the HX series hand portable radio. A high quality throat microphone with a comfortable soft-feel adjustable neck band. A rugged ‘D’ shaped earpiece accompanies the throat microphone and connects via a quality in-line connector to a large rugged waterproof press to talk switch that can clip on to a belt or other suitable position using the rugged revolving clip. The large sized press to talk (PTT) switch is easy to use, has a positive feel and can be used by a gloved hand or under clothing. . |
